Annual Banquet,
Women in Waders, & Youth Night
We have scheduled our annual banquet for Sunday, February 10th, 2008. Save this date; you don't want to miss this exciting event with lots of great items up for auction.
Women In Waders dates have been set for 2008.:
- Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 is our clinic evening where participants learn the
basics of stream fishing, fly casting, spin casting, flies and lures, knots, the gear
involved, etc... .
-Saturday, June 21st, 2008 is a half day guided trip on the New Haven River with
a Club member. All gear is provided along with a streamside lunch.
This class is free and open to all women. We do, however, limit the number of participants to keep the instructor to student ratio low. So if you are interested contact us soon. Email: Kathi Apgar
The date for the 2008 Youth Night is Tuesday, May 13th, 2008 at Sycamore Park, along the New Haven River.
2006 Women in Waders
Our Women in Waders program is designed to encourage more women
to take up the sport of fly fishing. This is a two part program:
-one evening of introduction to the gear and materials as well as some casting
instruction
-a half day of guided fly fishing on the New Haven River with an experienced
angler from the NHRAA and a wrap up lunch at the Dog Team Tavern.
The program is free and open to anyone.
Look for more information as we get closer to fishing season.

2006 Youth Night
The Anglers have been hosting a Youth night for quite a few years now and it is always a big hit with local kids of all ages. This night is typically the 2nd Tuesday in June and takes place from 6-8 behind the Dog Team Tavern. The night includes:
- Casting instruction (both spin and fly casting)
-Fly Tying demonstrations
-Stream Critters (Entomology)
-Fishing if the river is fishable
-Raffle Prizes for every child attending
-Food and Drink (provided by Dog Team Tavern)
